What an honor to have the featured on the cover of the Lacanche Owner's Guide.

This project really has become a feather in my cap and one I am very proud of creating. Of course, I did not do this alone as every renovation is a collaboration. The homeowners beautiful taste, Alair Homes Charlotte's leadership, Cabinets Trim More's gorgeous custom cabinetry and so many other trade professionals were wonderful partners in the process and the stellar photography by Ascendant Imaging, captured a space that embodies luxurious comfort.

The 1908 Farmhouse project has its perks when you get to go home with farm fresh eggs and a little insight into farm life! Apparently, you can establish the color of eggs a hen will produce based on the color of their ear canals. So blue ear canal, blue eggs!

Who may you ask is Flourish Interior Design? Flourish was created by local Charlottean, Alison Roosenberg, in 2017. Having initially worked as a fashion designer in New York City, Alison decided to pursue a second career after obtaining her interior design degree. She designed for a high end design build firm in NYC but longed for home and family, she returned to Charlotte and designed for a local firm before creating Flourish Interior Design. She has a thoughtful approach to design, creating beautiful and functional spaces where families can truly flourish. After years of training, she expanded her skills beyond interior remodels and also provides architectural design such as additions and outdoor living spaces. Her work can be found in Charlotte and the surrounding areas most coveted neighborhoods. She believes the designer, homeowner, builders and trades are partners in every renovation and believes a positive and professional attitude makes all the difference. She would love to hear about your dreams and goals for your home.

Alison's Design Assistant, Violet, a black coonhound-lab mix from also does her best to help...and sometimes impede, Alison's design efforts. She's great with demolition but needs work on color selections.

The Catalina Bay Renovations opened the heart of the home, the kitchen, to the great room with it's cathedral ceilings and views of a beautiful cove on Lake Norman. Navy cabinetry with copper details throughout make for a casual elegance that is perfect for entertaining.

I am working with a new homeowner in the South Charlotte Royden neighborhood and she is interested in potentially installing an illuminated island. This has been a first for me and it has been interesting to learn the process. The stone required for this application is called Cristallo and it is generally accepted to be part of the quartzite family of natural stone. Watch the video link below to learn how this effect is fabricated! The areas that are the most white have a calcium content and will remain opaque. However, the areas that are more grey, have a very crystalline structure and the light will shine through. Slab suppliers have also begun injecting the natural fishers in the stone with dyes such as blue to give more of a range of colors. This is not for everyone as both the material itself and the lighting system are at a premium price but it does make for an interesting feature. This is typically seen in commercial spaces such as bars and restaurants as the full impact is best enjoyed in dim lighting. Home bars can be an especially exciting opportunity for this approach. Putting the "Great" in great room at the Catalina Bay Renovation, incorporated a ventless gas fireplace, a large Samsung Frame television that doubles as a work of art and illuminated niches to display the homeowners treasured pieces. Secret panels also conceal all the electronics and the game center. The deep blue board and batten wall, built by , draws the eye upward so the height of the space can be truly enjoyed in this beautiful lakeside home.
