LH Gardens Page The Garden Mixer Podcast with Leslie Harris and Marianne Willburn. Because gardening doesn't have to be boring.

Listen to Into the Garden with Leslie each week to get more great information about gardening. Each week I chat with a guest who generally knows more than I do! In addition, I learn and teach about a Plant of the Week and in The Play List, I make suggestions on how to play in your garden each week.

Hey guys, if this is real, it looks like I'm out of here. Thanks for the likes and follows. I guess I'll do what I can to fix it, but I'm not very confident. πŸ’šπŸ’šπŸ’šπŸ’š

Wondering why I would post such sad horticultural specimens? You may well... but in my latest podcast (Into the Garden with Leslie) I talked about my Brugmansia woes, and here you see them: strange and sad green sticks that used to support large leaves. More leaves are trying to come and .willburn (who wrote "Tropical Plants and how to Love Them", and I do,) opined it could just be the excessive heat. Not what, you may further wonder, what is that strange specimen sporting what looks like a petunia flower on the right? It's a petunia, but I didn't plant it. But several years ago I mixed the old fashioned climbing petunias into this container and clearly, this fellow wanted to help out this summer. He may have sensed things weren't looking good πŸ€—

Looks like a great place for a cup of coffee so I made one. Still waking up quite early, but that means I enjoy the coolest and prettiest part of the day. See those decorative metal grates in the corner? This morning I tucked in moonflower vines seeds that had soaked overnight, so I'm hoping for a tropical vibe in a month or two.

So darned proud of my son for getting these pots done! Very busy household of 4 young kids and he killed it! What would I have done differently? Just two things-- 1. Trimmed the dead wood off of the hydrangea (it doesn't hurt anything to be there, but I just wouldn't want to look at it) and 2. Flip those pot trays. They are totally unnecessary and really would only serve to breed mosquitoes. Either flip them upside down or remove. OH! And swipe to see his azaleas ( would I have those pruned like that or at all? No way. Do I think the look awesome? Yes I do. )

Most plants on this little porch are situated and waiting to get into summer. That big one in the corner though… it's yelling at me, saying fill me up! Current thoughts are culinary herbs to snip from.
