Things that have actually been said out loud to me, some more than once.. 🙃😂🤪

* “Can you trim the tree so it doesn’t drop leaves in my yard anymore?”

* “I don’t want the tree cut down. I just want it shorter by about 40 feet.”

* “The tree fell on my house this morning. How soon can you get here? Also, what’s taking so long?”

* “Can you remove the stump without damaging the roots?”

* “The tree looks dead. It’s been dead for years. Why is it growing leaves?”

* “Can you make it look natural?” (after requesting removal of 80% of the canopy)

* “I think the tree is sick because squirrels keep climbing it.”

* “Can you cut the tree down and have it land exactly between my shed, fence, pool, and power line?”

* “I don’t want to spend much. How hard can it be? It’s only 90 feet tall.”

* “My neighbor’s leaves keep blowing into my yard. Can you trim their tree from my side?”

* “Can you tell the birds not to come back after you remove the tree?”

* “The tree was fine until the storm knocked it over.”

* “Can you remove the tree but leave the shade?”

* “I don’t understand why it costs more than my nephew’s chainsaw.”

* “Can you guarantee the tree won’t ever fall again after you trim it?”

* “Can you get rid of the wood? Unless it’s worth money. Then can you leave it?”

* “The branch is hanging over my roof. Can’t you just pull it down with a rope?”

* “I planted this tree 50 years ago. Why is it so expensive to remove?”

People driving by: “Aww, they’re doing a gender reveal!” 👶

Me: “Nope.”

That’s just a pine tree releasing enough pollen to start three allergy seasons at once. 🌲☁️🤧

When Brian shook this tree, it looked like the forest was va**ng. 🌲💨

Congratulations though—it’s an allergy

The only thing we’re expecting is complaints from everyone’s sinuses.

Some fun tree facts for this rainy day

🌳 Trees can “talk” to each other
Scientists have found that trees exchange nutrients and warning signals through underground fungal networks nicknamed the “wood wide web.” Older “mother trees” can even support younger saplings nearby.

🌲 The tallest tree on Earth is over 380 feet tall
A coast redwood named Hyperion is the tallest known living tree. Its exact location is kept secret to protect it from damage.

🍂 Trees can make rain
Large forests release huge amounts of water v***r through transpiration. The Amazon rainforest helps generate weather systems and rainfall patterns across South America.

🌴 Some trees survive being struck by lightning
Certain tropical trees are surprisingly resilient to lightning strikes and can survive multiple hits over their lifetime.

🌺 Not all trees grow upward
The famous Crooked Forest contains pine trees with mysterious curved trunks that bend dramatically near the ground.

🌳 Trees can live for thousands of years
A Great Basin bristlecone pine called Methuselah is estimated to be nearly 5,000 years old.

🍁 One giant tree can support an ecosystem
Huge old-growth trees can house birds, insects, mosses, fungi, mammals, and even smaller plants all at once.

🌲 Aspen groves may actually be one organism
The famous Pando looks like a forest of many trees, but it’s actually one massive organism connected by a shared root system.

🌬️ Trees can influence your mood
Studies suggest spending time around trees lowers stress and can improve concentration and mental well-being. Japan even has a practice called “forest bathing.”

🔥 Some trees need fire to reproduce
Certain pine cones only open after exposure to intense heat from forest fires, helping forests regenerate naturally.

This trees has suffered damage, likely a storm injury, resulting in sap leakage and subsequent dark staining or fungi growth on the trunk.
The dark, blackened appearance on the bark is often a result of slime flux or sooty mold growing on sap leaking from a wound.
