Our hearts are full after a productive fall harvest and planting day at the Jessi Igou Community Center!

There is something special about coming together as a community to work the soil. We celebrated the bounty of summer and cleared space to plant new seeds for the cooler weather ahead . This effort represents more than just gardening; it's about cultivation—of food, health, and connection.

A huge thank you to our partners at SEED Chattanooga for making this day a success, and to all the incredible volunteers who dedicated their time and energy. Your commitment to building a healthier, stronger community through sustainable food practices is inspiring. 💚

As we move into the fall planting season, now is the perfect time to think about your own garden space. TasteCraft Collective is ready to help you grow!

Between recent store-bought produce recalls and headlines about Cyclospora outbreaks, it’s completely natural to feel uncertain about what’s landing on your dinner table. But there is a wonderful, empowering alternative: growing your own! 🌿✨

You don't need a massive farm to enjoy a abundant harvest. Raised bed gardening allows you to maximize small backyards, urban nooks, and side yards to produce lush cabbages, prolific zucchini, aromatic herbs, and crunchy cucumbers for homemade pickles.

When you grow your own food, you know exactly where it came from, how it was cared for, and how clean it is. It’s peace of mind, physical wellness, and community connection wrapped into one rewarding habit.

What is one crop you’d love to step outside and harvest fresh for dinner tonight? Let us know in the comments below! 👇

"Healthy food, healthier people, stronger communities." ❤️

This past Saturday, August 22nd, we put that mission into action at Hardy Elementary School! Partnering with SEED Chattanooga and a team of dedicated volunteers, we spent the morning giving the school’s raised beds a complete seasonal reset.

Together, we:
🌾 Harvested peak summer crops (including some incredible, bushy basil!)
🌱 Removed weeds and cleared out spent summer plants
🍂 Prepped and planted fresh cool-weather crops for the upcoming fall season

School gardens teach students where their food comes from and instill a lifelong love for nature and nourishment. We are so grateful to everyone who lent a hand to keep this garden growing strong for the students!

Engagement Question: What are you clearing out or planting in your own garden as we move into the fall season?

There is a common misconception that the end of summer means the end of the fresh food season. In reality, fall is a magical time for a garden. The air is crisper, the soil holds moisture beautifully, and cool-weather crops like Swiss chard, beets, and kale actually taste sweeter after a light frost.

If you’ve wanted to grow your own food but felt overwhelmed by the logistics, our brand-new Bespoke Fall Garden Plans were made for you. For just $50, the TasteCraft Collective team will design a customized layout for your space, curate a list of cold-hardy plants perfect for Zone 8a, and hand you a step-by-step growing guide from planting to harvest.

Gardening isn't just about the harvest—it's about connecting with nature, slowing down, and nourishing our families with the highest quality food possible. Let’s make this autumn a season of growth and community.

What is one cool-weather vegetable or fall flower you’ve always wanted to try growing? Let us know in the comments! 👇

Spaces for our custom fall consultations are limited as the planting season approaches. Message us to receive your plan.

For this week's Fruit Friday, we are celebrating the ultimate summer treat: fresh, homegrown strawberries! 🍓✨

There is nothing quite like the taste of a strawberry that has ripened fully on the vine under the morning sun. Today, we turned a bumper crop from our raised beds into a beautiful batch of low-sugar homemade strawberry jam to share with neighbors.

When we design gardens for families, we almost always include a dedicated berry space. It teaches kids where their food comes from, provides a sweet reward for their patience, and shows them how we can sustainably preserve nature’s abundance for the months ahead.

Engagement Question: Are you team "eat them all fresh" or team "make them into jam"? Let us know your favorite way to enjoy a fresh berry harvest below!
