Proof that the spaces between rooms deserve just as much love as the rooms themselves. Viewed from the main living area, we framed this entry to feel like a serene, intentional vignette. We paired a wood console with an asymmetric mirror, letting the architecture guide your eye forward. The glass-and-brass light fixture adds an airy, liquid-like elegance overhead. Hardware seems like a small decision, but it anchors the whole room. This matte black pull against soft white cabinetry is subtle and cool to the touch, with just enough weight to feel intentional. For years, closed-off rooms were the standard, separate spaces for separate moments. Then open concept took over, and for the past 15 years it’s dominated nearly every new build and renovation. But here’s what we’re noticing now: people are finding their way back to a little definition. Not fully closed, not fully open, but a hybrid that gives you the best of both. Lifestyle shapes design, and right now, design is shifting to meet where people actually live. This or that? We think it’s this and that.

One of our favorite things about a new build? A completely blank slate.
The footprint was tight, so we chose an oval table that softens the room, but keeps the flow easy without sacrificing a single seat.
