The most expensive mistake you can make as a homeowner? Ignoring the boring stuff. 🏡 
 
I’m talking about those little maintenance tasks that are so easy to put off. Changing your HVAC filter, checking your caulk, cleaning your gutters. 
 
None of them are particularly exciting. But ignoring them can lead to some pretty expensive problems down the road. 
 
Most of us were never taught how to take care of a house! We learn the hard way, usually when something breaks and we’re stuck with a big repair bill.

Can you really make an air vent disappear into wallpaper?! 👀 
 
I’m about to wallpaper my daughter’s entire bedroom, but first I wanted to tackle this ugly wall vent. 
 
I found this flush-mount vent from Fittes that’s designed to blend right into the wall. And naturally, I had to give it a try! 
 
The installation itself? Pretty straightforward. 
 
The drywall mudding? Let’s just say I won’t be quitting my day job. 😂 
 
After two coats of mud and LOTS of sanding, we’re finally ready for wallpaper primer. 
 
Now comes the real test. Will this vent actually disappear once the wallpaper goes up?!

Your couch might not be the problem…your throw pillows might be. 👀 
 
A few small tweaks can make a HUGE difference: going bigger with your pillows, sizing up your inserts, mixing colors and textures, and layering everything the right way. 
 
And no, you don’t need to buy all new pillows to make your couch look better. Sometimes you just need to work with what you already have a little differently.
