Another great reason to make The City of Franklin, Ohio your destination!
As one of the final elements of the Main Street Streetscape Project, the intersection of Fourth Street and Main Street in downtown Franklin will be temporarily closed during the week of June 8 while crews install a new public art mural at the center of the intersection.
During the temporary closure of the Fourth and Main intersection, access to downtown businesses and parking areas will remain available via Benjamin Franklin Way and the surrounding alleyways. Motorists are encouraged to plan alternate routes and use caution while crews are working in the area
Building upon Franklin’s collection of award-winning downtown murals, this new public art installation will transform one of downtown’s busiest intersections into a vibrant and welcoming centerpiece that reflects the community’s identity, history, and momentum. The mural’s design draws inspiration from two defining symbols of Franklin — the kite representing the city’s namesake and the Great Miami River that shapes the community’s western edge. The artwork blends the flowing movement of the river with the bold geometric lines of a kite in flight, spiraling outward from the center of the intersection in a composition that feels both grounded and dynamic.
