Circleville Pumpkin Show, Inc. Baking competition 2026. This is my third year baking for the pumpkin show and honestly I was shocked this year. This cake was giving me such a hard time, like frustratingly hard, I almost didn’t enter it. Yet with encouragement from my husband to enter something, and some competitive motivation as to why we like to bake in these competitions from a friend at 3:52pm I entered my items and waited for the doors to open on Wednesday. I fully anticipated a sloped over to the side cake sitting on the counter as me and my family walked into the building. Only to having smiling laughter when I didn’t see it and in unbelief it wasn’t sloped over on a shelf, but drooping with a ribbon on the winners table that said Pumpkin Show 2026 Champion Cake, Pumpkin Caramel Crunch! It’s so far from pretty, but it looks a little better than I expected it to! Thank you to all those who dedicate volunteering their time every year not only to this building and competition, but also to this week of October that changes our whole city. Lord willing I’ll see you next year!
