After years of designing homes, I’ve come to appreciate the bedroom in a different way.

It’s one of the most personal spaces we create. It doesn’t need to impress anyone. It simply needs to feel good, to be comfortable, inviting, and completely your own.

I’ve always loved rooms that feel collected over time, where color, texture, pattern, and beautiful materials come together without feeling too precious.

The best bedrooms don’t just look like a retreat. They feel like one.

Who says wallpaper only belongs on the walls?

I’ve always loved taking it up to the ceiling. It adds texture, creates an unexpected moment, and gives the room that little something you weren’t expecting.

That’s the fun of design, there really are no rules. Sometimes the best ideas come from looking at a space and asking, “Why not?”

One of my favorite parts of the design process is seeing the possibilities before they’re actually there.

I recently spent the day in Park City with Abby and Sarah, two designers at Barclay Butera Interior Design, walking through one of our newest projects. Right now, we’re looking at the bones of the home, but hearing the vision for each space, I can already see it starting to come to life.

There’s something so exciting about walking through an unfinished home, talking through the details, and imagining everything it’s going to become.

This one is going to be special. Can’t wait to take you along for the transformation and show you the finished project!
