Simple door swap I did last week. Also throw in some tips for tip Tuesday 4/8

First tip- it’s a lot easier to spray a slatted door, I’m not saying it’s not possible to paint with a brush or roller but it is much harder to not get drips and will take a lot longer! So spray if you can or hire someone that can spray it for you.

Second tip- if you put screws in the top and bottom of a door(where the holes won’t be seen) you can set it on saw horses and spray both sides at the same time. Just make sure the screws or nails are strong enough to hold the door. You don’t want it to fall while it’s drying…

Tip Tuesday 2/25
The easiest way to cut around outlet boxes is with a router but if you don’t have one here is another trick. You can put a little mud on the corners of the box, press your drywall into place, and it will mark the box outline. Then just use an oscillating tool to cut it out

Couple pictures of this fireplace I did recently. I think it turned out great with a slight weathered look. Client didn’t want any of the color of brick to show through but also didn’t want it to look like a thick coat of paint on top.
I cleaned it with tsp, and let it dry for a few days
Then used a combo of brush and roller to apply the product which is actually a concrete stain from sherwin williams
2 coats of the product while dabbing some of it off with a painting rag as I went
I also painting the brass on the fire place to make it all black. I used extreme bonding primer and high heat paint.

Tip Tuesday 3/18
If you want to cut in a corner with two different colors but don’t want to use tape. You can use your 5 in 1 to lightly scrape a line in the corner for you to follow with your brush. You still need to have a steady hand and a slight bit of skill but it definitely makes it much easier!

I’m gonna start a tip Tuesday series that may help some of you all or atleast show you how I do things. This is the best way I have found to paint tight spots that a weeny roller won’t fit into. Comment if you have any other ideas or tools that would work behind the toilet like this.
