Proverbs 18:10
“The name of the Lord is a strong tower;
the righteous run to it and are safe.”
The Tower and the Soul
C. W. Fernández
When the soul trembles, it seeks height.
The castle and its solemn grace,
the tower—tall, unshaken,
walls firm, impenetrable.
They were not built from fear
or in response to attack,
but from wisdom.
Even without an enemy,
those stones speak of refuge.
The tower does not stop the storm,
but gives you calm and sight.
When all collapses,
the name of God is more than word—
it is tower, shelter, strength.
It’s not escape from the world,
but running toward the Presence
that holds it all.
While others trust
in power or fame,
the righteous run to the Name,
where grace replaces judgment.
There the soul stops fleeing,
breathes again,
recovers strength, direction again
and Love—undeniable, overwhelming—remains.
Thus we live in gratitude.Proverbs 18:10
