Tip of the Week 🌵 (Part 3 of 3)

This is where most people mess up — don’t skip this 👇

Step 8: Level your soil
➡️ Repeat light packing until flat ~1/2 inch from top

Step 9: Add top dress
➡️ Cover entire surface with Active Cactus Top Dress
Step 10: Even it out
➡️ Lightly spread with mini rake

Step 11: Place your cactus
➡️ Put it in its permanent lighting environment

Step 12: WAIT to water
⛔ Do NOT water for 1 week

Step 13: After 1 week
💧 Water thoroughly
➡️ Then let fully dry before watering again
This prevents rot and promotes strong root establishment 🔥

Tip of the Week 🌵 (Part 2 of 3)

Now that your cactus is out, let’s set it up for success 👇

Step 4: Loosen the roots
➡️ Lightly jostle the root ball
➡️ VERY important if root-bound

Step 5: Prep your new pot
➡️ Add soil so the plant sits ~1 inch below the rim

Step 6: Backfill soil
➡️ Add soil around the plant
➡️ Stop about 1/2 inch from the top

Step 7: Lightly pack
➡️ Use a mini rake or tool
➡️ Keep it firm but NOT compacted

Strong roots = faster growth 🌵💪

👉 Next Tuesday: finishing + aftercare (this part matters most)

Tip of the Week 🌵 (Part 1 of 3)
Repotting your cactus the right way starts before it even leaves the pot 👇

Step 1: Choose a cactus that needs to be up-potted
➡️ Signs: roots coming out bottom, drying too fast, or slowed growth

Step 2: Gather your supplies
✔️ New pot (slightly bigger, not oversized)
✔️ Fresh soil (fast-draining, mineral-heavy)
✔️ Gloves or tongs

Step 3: Remove the plant safely
➡️ Use tongs or gloves
➡️ Gently pull from the base — don’t squeeze

This sets the foundation for strong roots and healthy growth 🌱

Tip of the Week: Repot When Roots Start to Fill the Cup

If you can see healthy roots circling the sides or coming through the drainage holes, it is time to repot your cactus into the next size up.

A good repot helps give roots more room, improves airflow, and supports steady growth. We recommend moving up only one pot size at a time and using a fast-draining cactus mix.

Healthy roots = happy cactus. 🌵



You could also make it a little shorter for Facebook/Instagram:

Tip of the Week: Repotting
When you start seeing roots along the cup or coming through the drainage holes, your cactus is ready for a new pot.
Move up just one size, use a fast-draining mix, and let those roots keep growing strong. 🌵

Choose a pot with proper drainage holes
Increase pot size only one size at a time.
Avoid heavy, moisture-retaining potting soils.
After repotting, wait 5–7 days before watering to allow roots to settle and prevent stress.
