At Pigg Construction, we do all kinds of construction — but decks are one of our favorites.

Whether it’s brand-new framing, replacing old boards, upgrading railings, or giving an existing deck new life, we enjoy building outdoor spaces that are solid, safe, and made to last. Whenever possible, we help homeowners choose low-to-no maintenance options so they can spend more time enjoying their deck and less time maintaining it.

“On my honor, I will make my rank an example…” -an excerpt from the Eagle Scout Oath.

I have had the privilege and opportunity to work (a mash of professional and volunteer time) at one of my favorite places on Earth, Lake of the Ozarks Scout Reservation this past spring.

Featured here are the custom cabinetry, displays, and other multiple upgrades to the Lee White Trading Post. See the pictures at the end to see the before shots. In true Scout fashion we rebuilt and repurposed much of what we already had. We’ll get some better shots once the products are filled in, but this place sure has come a long way from the original concession window that it once was.

This really was like working at home, and I feel like Lee would be proud- that’s good enough for me!

After an exhausting but absolutely satisfying week of work for our team to meet a big deadline, the Great Rivers Council, Boy Scouts of America opened our latest projects for use at Lake of the Ozarks Scout Reservation with a ribbon cutting attended by many including the National President of the Boy Scouts of America.

We are proud to showcase the E.M. Burger Foundation Pavilion and adjoining Lee White Trading Post upgrades and several shots of the process, including sleeping arrangements for the boss that stayed on site all week to complete the project (many thanks to the campers that did not complain once during the late night noise making on Friday as we pushed to reach our deadline).

Special thanks to past LOTOSR staff member and one of our company’s Eagle Scouts, Michael Pigg, for his extraordinary efforts this week and to Ronnie Day, Josh Dix, and Angela Pigg for their help getting us finished. We still have a touch up or two to take care of, but I hope you can see the love and effort we made for this special place and organization.

On a day that was made in the shade, we made some shade of our own! Metal roofing completed on the Trading Post Pavilion and the Lakefront Pavilion during the eclipse today. Camp Hohn was a special place to view this cosmic event (95% totality) and the crowds were manageable 😎.

Please excuse the mess under the new Trading Post cover…we began work on the next phase of the interior today too!
