Take a look. These are pictures of a sink repair that we did today. What you are seeing are shims of wood that were glued to the lip of the sink and then to the stone, in order to "secure" the sink to the granite. This is a disaster just waiting to happen. Many granite companies around Columbia/Lexington use this practice for installing sinks. Over a period of time, the sink WILL separate from the granite (as shown). Take a look under your sink, if you see these shims glued underneath to your stone, you may want to give us a call and have us come out and install your sink the proper way. We are professionals. We don't "glue" sinks to the stone and pray they don't fall. We BOLT our sinks to the granite so that you don't have this issue in the future.
