Day One, Chapter One. Today I learned more than I knew yesterday about trees. I'm starting this road to becoming an ISA Certified Arborist with the official study guide and loads of love, passion, field work and a reverence for the legends towering over me. The visionary tree stewards that planted these oaks, sycamores and maples here in Arlington didn't have the resources we have today but they still understood the value of trees 100+ years ago -- and their contribution still thrives today. They never intended to bask under the shade of this canopy, or gain much property value; no I believe they were crafting a collective manifesto etched in the topography of what is America's nucleus in more ways than one.
