Early March is a great time to start getting your yard ready for the season ahead. A little preparation now can make a big difference once the growing season really kicks in.
Here are five simple things you can do right now.
1 🍂 Clean up winter debris. Remove sticks, leftover leaves, and dead plant material so sunlight and air can reach the soil.
2 🌱 Apply a crabgrass pre emergent. Early March is a good window to prevent weeds before soil temperatures rise.
3 🍃 Lightly rake matted areas. Snow and ice can flatten grass over winter and a gentle rake helps it recover.
4 ✂️ Prune trees and shrubs. Late winter is a great time to remove dead branches and shape plants before spring growth starts.
