Rin Makes Art I doodle, I paint, I like to play with colors and textures. Sometimes I craft, sometimes I make art, I am always making *something*.

I am still an art-world baby. I have been drawing and making doodly psychedelia since about 2010, and painting since early 2013. I am so fortunate to be surrounded by amazing and creative people who inspire me and fuel my drive to create. I am having so much fun making cool stuff and working at making stuff even cooler! Once again, I am immensely humbled and so grateful to the Greater Columbus Arts Council and Mayor Andrew J. Ginther for their support of my work via Artist in the Community Grant. This haul is more than I could have hoped for. I'm so excited to get to work on my very first solo show, coming in September!!

I received the amazing news this morning that I've been selected for an Artist in the Community supply grant from the Greater Columbus Arts Council! Thank you so much to the GCAC and Mayor Andrew J. Ginther for your support of my work and the awesome Columbus arts community. Big things coming this year, I can't wait to get started!

In 2012, I blocked out my first canvas painting. I thought, "how hard can it be to translate pen and ink stuff to paint?" Dozens of hours' work, almost 3 years of agonizing, countless thoughts of scrapping it, lessons learned, and a new sense of determination, I have finished. 16x20 acrylic on canvas. I call it "brain vomit".
