I just felt like sharing some contractor wisdom. Hope this helps somebody.

Just an FYI. Never purchase a door without having the person that you wish to install it measure it first (unless you are 100% sure that you can do it yourself). There are more details than the size of the door that need to be considered.

1. The condition of the trim around the door may give clues of a bigger problem.

2. There are many manufacturers who make doors differently and place hinges and bore lockset holes in diffrrent places.

3. The swing of the door can be very confusing to many people. Whether you view from the inside or outside can be a disaster.

4. The size of the prehung frame is different than the size on the packaging.

5. The install is a VERY tedious process. Most people (even people who do remodel work) struggle. Door installation is a specialty area of carpentry and attention to detail matters.

6. In most cases, you won't get your money back. Especially when it is a special order door. Some places charge a restocking fee. You will own a door that you cannot use.

I have seen doors hung upside down, inside out, backwards, and on top of siding. We have replaced thousands of them. The fun never ends.

Over the past year, we have had many challenges with COVID-19 death, vehicle accidents, price increases from suppliers and many other frustrating obstacles.

On top of that we have had an enormous increase in inquiries and requests for estimates. It has truly been overwhelming.

To put things plainly, we are running behind due to all of those factors. We have never been in quite this position before and we appreciate every customer who has exercised patience with us as we work through these challanges.

With that said, we will be unable to take on any new projects for the next few months or until we catch up with our current workload.

We thank you for understanding and we hope to return to full capacity soon.

If you are a Lowe's customer, we are working to catch you up as quickly as possible.

Good morning,
As much as I hate to do this, I know that as a responsible business owner it is necessary and the right thing to do.

Two days ago I was exposed to a family member who was sick from COVID-19. As a result I will submit to testing and then quarantine for 2 weeks. Many of you have scheduled estimates with us and due to a high volume of inquiries, have already been waiting. For that I apologize.
