🌸 Every orchid grower faces different climate challenges.

At Flora G Shinkawa, located in Atibaia, Brazil, managing high temperatures and radiation has become an important part of their climate strategy for orchid production.

After two years working with a double-screen strategy using Harmony 5120 OE and Harmony 6145, Luis Carlos highlights benefits such as improved light distribution, increased brightness inside the greenhouse, and more favorable conditions during the warmest months.

The days are getting shorter and outdoor light intensity is decreasing rapidly. Especially now, with orchids, it is important to keep a close eye on your screen settings. This helps ensure that you continue to achieve the optimal light level in the greenhouse.

“During this period, regularly check your setpoints and adjust them where necessary”, advises climate consultant Bart Bakker. “You not only want to achieve the right light level in the greenhouse at any given moment, but also reach the desired daily light integral by the end of the day.”

This requires active control. A setting that worked well a few weeks ago may no longer be optimal due to changing outdoor conditions. PARperfect helps you find that balance and respond to changing light conditions.

This was one of the topics shared by Martha Alape during Veiling Holambra Field Day 2026 in Brazil.
