I can pull posts with about 300 pounds of concrete around the base with this machine I made. It’s not perfect but if it’s in your backyard. It’s the right tool unless I can get my excavator in there!

I built this fence post and concrete “plug” puller machine to help fight the battle of fence demotion. I have been in the business of building fences for over 16 years now. A lot of times when it comes to replacing an existing fence I can simply move the location of the posts. There are a few exception however, one being the starting post, the other being any corner post and then on some projects there are tree roots and there is really only one spot to put a fence post amongst the gnarly tree roots. That is exactly what the case was this last Thursday. There were four posts in the line that all had to go back in their exact location. This tool / machine made quick, low effort work of them. Gone are the days of renting the giant jackhammer or drilling holes in the concrete and breaking it with the straight pick!
