Today's focus was finally starting the grout process on the new pebble shower floor!🪨

This project has been a great reminder that in construction, not everything goes according to plan. Weather delays, damaged materials, shipping issues, and unexpected challenges behind the scenes of a project can all impact a project's timeline. While everyone hopes for a smooth process, sometimes the unexpected becomes part of the job.🛠

As a small, family-owned business, we don't have a large crew rotating through projects. That means when delays happen, we work through them one step at a time while making sure the job is done correctly. The upside? Yesterday was a long day, so today became a true family effort.👨‍👩‍👧

One of the things we love most about being a family-owned business is that we get to tackle life's ups and downs together. When things don't go exactly as planned, we adjust, support each other, and keep moving forward.💪

Aurora always enjoys the opportunity to spend time on a job site with her dad and learn a little more about the construction world. From helping out where she can to asking questions and soaking up knowledge, she's becoming quite the little helper.🛠

Behind the Scenes of Every Project 🛠🛍

After wrapping up work on today's job, we made a materials run to pick up supplies for both the project we're currently working on and a few upcoming ones.🛒

One thing I genuinely enjoy about being a husband-and-wife team is getting to be involved in every part of the process—from meeting customers and planning projects to loading up carts and hunting down materials. While we usually shop closer to home, sometimes Menards has exactly what we need in stock when other stores don't.🤗

It's not the most glamorous part of the job, but these little moments remind us why we love working together. Every successful project starts long before the tools come out, and we're always working behind the scenes to make sure we're prepared to deliver the best results possible.✨️

Not every job goes exactly as planned—and that's just part of the construction and handyman industry.👷🏻🔨

Some projects are booked months in advance, which means schedules occasionally overlap. Like today, we temporarily paused progress on a shower remodel to complete an over-the-kitchen-sink light installation for another customer.💡

At first glance, this appeared to be a quick and straightforward job. However, once we got into the project, unexpected complications arose that required additional time and troubleshooting to ensure everything was installed safely and correctly.🪛🔩

It's a good reminder that in this field, even the simplest jobs can reveal hidden challenges. We never cut corners, and we take the time needed to make sure every project is completed the right way.✨️🤗

Today, Eric focused on one of the most important stages of any shower remodel—proper preparation. The existing floor was carefully leveled to create a solid, stable foundation for the new shower base, ensuring everything is installed correctly from the ground up.✨️

With the floor prep underway, attention was also given to the plumbing components that will support the new shower system. Taking the time to verify measurements, placements, and drainage now helps prevent issues down the road and sets the stage for a quality installation.🚿

A successful remodel starts with getting the foundation right, and that's exactly what today's work was all about.🔧
