A couple of weeks ago, we shared a post about a tankless water heater that had been installed with an improper vent. After seeing the post, the original plumbing company reached out to us directly.

What happened next says a lot about character.

They stood behind their work.

Not only did they cover the cost of the vent repair, but they also returned to seal the roof pe*******on, paint the vent, and even offered the homeowner two years of free service on the tankless water heater.

In a world where people are quick to point fingers, it was refreshing to see a company step up, take responsibility, and make things right.

The homeowner was so grateful for the way everyone worked together to solve the problem that she surprised us with a homemade chocolate caramel cheesecake.

And let me tell you… there’s only one thing better than cheesecake.

More cheesecake. 🍰😂

But the real reward isn’t the dessert.

It’s the relationships.

It’s helping people.

It’s earning trust.

It’s seeing contractors and customers come together to do the right thing.

At We The Plumbers, we’re grateful for customers who trust us, contractors who stand behind their work, and the opportunity to serve this community every day.

And this Father’s Day weekend, take a minute to call your dad. Tell him thank you. The older we get, the more we realize the sacrifices those hard-working dads made for us.

Happy Father’s Day from all of us at We The Plumbers.

Started with the M12 stick pump.

That little guy took one look at this loading dock, full of water, mud, leaves, trash, and whatever else has been living down there since the last hurricane season, and basically said:

“Yeah… I’m gonna sit this one out.” 😂

So we called in the big brother.

Out came the M18 beast.

A couple batteries, a whole lot of pumping, and a dumpster’s worth of garbage later, we had the loading dock cleaned out, the sump pit cleared, and a brand-new sump pump installed.

Now it’s ready for hurricane season instead of auditioning to be a neighborhood swimming pool. 🌊

Moral of the story:

If your sump pump is buried under enough debris to qualify as an archaeological dig, it might be time for a service call.

🌀 Hurricane season is here. Are you ready?

When the power goes out, the last thing you want to be doing is standing in line trying to buy a generator hookup after the storm has already hit.

At We The Plumbers, we install natural gas quick-connects for portable generators so you’re ready before the first tropical storm enters the Gulf.

✅ Keep your refrigerator running
✅ Keep your A/C or portable cooling units operating
✅ Charge phones and devices
✅ Keep lights on during extended outages
✅ No more running back and forth with gas cans

We’ve already installed several generator quick-connects this season, and every year we get the same calls after the storm when supplies are limited and schedules are packed.

The best time to prepare for a hurricane is when the sun is shining.

Don’t wait until you’re sitting in the dark wondering if the power company will have you back online tonight… or next week.

📞 Call We The Plumbers today to discuss a generator gas connection and get storm-ready before the next system starts tracking toward Texas.

🚽 A Toilet That Wouldn’t Flush Turned Into a Bigger Problem Than Anyone Expected

Last week, we were called out for what seemed like a simple toilet issue. The toilet wasn’t flushing properly, so we pulled it and ran a camera through the sewer line.

What we found was a sewer line completely packed with roots.

The surprising part? The nearest tree was about 25 feet away. Many homeowners assume they’re safe if trees aren’t right beside the sewer line, but roots have a way of finding even the smallest opening underground.

After exposing the sewer, we discovered the real culprit. A previous repair had been made using a standard rubber Fernco underground. For buried sewer repairs, a properly shielded no-hub or four-band coupling should be used to help prevent movement and future issues.

We replaced the damaged section of sewer, restored the line, reinstalled the toilet, and had everything flowing freely again — all in the same day.

Moments like these remind us why we do what we do. Plumbing isn’t just pipes and fittings. It’s helping families get back to normal when something goes wrong.

We’re incredibly grateful for the trust our customers place in us every day. Every phone call, every review, and every referral means more than you know. Thank you for allowing us to serve this community.

🚨 A/C season is here, and so are backed-up condensate drains! 🚨

Every summer we get calls from homeowners wondering why water is coming out of their bathroom sink, overflowing into cabinets, or causing damage to their home.

A few simple things can help prevent it:

✅ Pour a cup of white vinegar down the condensate drain every month to help control algae buildup.

✅ Keep the drain outlet outside clear of grass, mulch, dirt, and insect nests.

✅ Change your air filters regularly. A dirty filter can contribute to excess moisture and drain issues.

✅ If your A/C drain ties into a bathroom sink, pay attention to slow-draining sinks. They can be an early warning sign of a blockage.

✅ Don’t ignore water around the indoor unit, secondary drain pan, or bathroom sink. Small problems become expensive repairs quickly.

If your condensate line is backing up, don’t wait until water is running across your floor. Give us a call before a simple drain cleaning turns into water damage.

****** Update*****

A lot of people are quick to point out when something is wrong, but not enough people recognize when a company steps up and does the right thing.

The owner of the company reached out to us today to see if the installation was theirs.

It was.

Without hesitation, they acknowledged it and are taking the necessary steps to make it right.

In a world where accountability sometimes seems hard to find, it’s refreshing to see a company stand behind its work and its reputation.

There are still good, honest, reliable tradesmen out there. Today was a reminder of that.

------------------------------------------

Today we were called out to a customer’s home for what seemed like a simple toilet repair.

Before we left, the homeowners—an elderly couple on a fixed income—asked if we could take a look at their tankless water heater. They told us they weren’t getting the performance they were promised when it was installed.

What we found was disappointing.

The tankless water heater had been installed by a well-known company in the area, and as you’ll notice in the photo, their company sticker is still proudly displayed on the front of the unit. They should have no problem recognizing their work.

The venting configuration raised serious concerns. Tankless water heaters produce high-temperature exhaust gases and must be vented according to the manufacturer’s specifications. In many installations, that means using approved vent materials all the way through the roof system.

In this case, a rubber Fernco coupling had been used as part of the vent transition. Over time, exposure to heat can cause rubber components to deteriorate. If that happens, exhaust gases—including carbon monoxide—could potentially escape into the home.

Safety isn’t optional. It doesn’t matter if the job costs $500 or $5,000.

We’ve already contacted a roofing contractor and are coordinating the necessary repairs so this system can be brought into compliance and, more importantly, made safe for the homeowners.

If the original installing company would like the opportunity to stand behind their work and correct the issue themselves, we’d certainly welcome that conversation. Their sticker is on the unit, so they should be able to identify the installation without much trouble.

At We The Plumbers, our goal isn’t to tear down other companies. Our goal is to protect homeowners and make sure every system we touch is safe, reliable, and installed the right way.

If you’re unsure about the condition of your water heater, gas system, or venting, give us a call. Sometimes a second set of eyes can make all the difference.

Customer called because the toilet wouldn’t stay tight.

Pulled the toilet and found the fl**ge had given up on life years ago.

Got a new fl**ge installed, toilet reset and secured properly.

While we were at it, drained and hauled off the old 40-gallon water heater from the attic, installed the new one, tested everything, and had it all wrapped up before 8:30 this morning.

Happy Friday.

Just a heads up to everyone always asking for a plumber on Facebook…

I am the guy shamelessly posting my own digital business card in the comments. 😂

But in my defense:
✔ Honest
✔ Fair pricing
✔ Actually answers the phone
✔ Shows up
✔ Extremely good looking (according to at least one very biased source)

So if you need plumbing work done, don’t be surprised when I advertise myself harder than Temu ads on Facebook. 🚿🔧

As Memorial Weekend begins, we at We The Plumbers want to take a moment to remember what this holiday truly means. While many of us gather with family, fire up the grill, enjoy the lake, or simply take a break from the daily grind, there are families across this country carrying the weight of an empty chair at the table.

Today, we honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to this nation. Their courage, selflessness, and love for this country gave all of us the freedoms we often take for granted every single day.

But we also want to recognize the families left behind. The spouses raising children without a mother or father. The parents who lost a son or daughter. The brothers, sisters, friends, and loved ones whose lives were forever changed by that sacrifice. Your pain, your strength, and your sacrifice do not go unseen.

Our prayer this Memorial Weekend is that your burdens may be lightened, your hearts comforted, and that you feel the gratitude and respect of a thankful nation. No amount of words can ever repay what was given, but we can choose to remember, to honor, and to never let those sacrifices fade into the background.

From all of us at We The Plumbers — thank you to the fallen, and thank you to the families who continue carrying their memory forward every day.

May we never forget that freedom has always come at a cost. 🇺🇸

It’s Friday.It’s America.And we live in Texas. 🇺🇸🤠

Which means your tankless water heater should be working harder than a Buc-ee’s brisket sandwich line on a holiday weekend.

Flushing your tankless water heater is one of the most important maintenance steps you can do. Hard water and mineral buildup collect inside the heat exchanger over time, causing:• Reduced efficiency• Higher gas usage• Inconsistent hot water• Strange noises• Premature failure

A yearly flush helps keep your system running efficiently, extends the life of the unit, and keeps those “why is my shower cold?” moments to a minimum.

Because in Texas, we expect two things:Cold sweet tea… and HOT water. 🔥

For those that don't drink Tea.
We have energy drinks
