Our hearts are heavy today as we remember Dolly Parton — a woman whose music, kindness, generosity, and larger-than-life spirit touched generations, and whose story has been woven into Myrtle Beach for decades. ❤️

Dolly’s connection to our area actually began long before Dixie Stampede or Pirates Voyage. She vacationed in Myrtle Beach with her family as a child, and with her mother being born in South Carolina, our state always held a special place in her heart.

Years later, she would leave an even bigger mark on the Grand Strand, opening Dixie Stampede in 1992. After 18 seasons, that same property was transformed into Pirates Voyage, which continues bringing families together and creating Myrtle Beach memories today.

But Dolly’s legacy goes far beyond music and entertainment. She lived with a heart for others, giving generously and using the blessings God gave her to make a difference in the lives of countless people — especially children through her Imagination Library.

While our hearts are saddened by her passing, we find comfort in knowing she is home with Jesus and reunited with her beloved husband, Carl. We can only imagine that beautiful reunion. ❤️🙏🏼

Myrtle Beach was part of Dolly’s story from the time she was a little girl, and eventually, Dolly became part of ours. What a special legacy she leaves behind here on the Grand Strand and around the world.

Rest peacefully, Dolly. Thank you for the music, the memories, the laughter, and for reminding us how much good can be done when we use our blessings to bless others. ❤️

☀️ Now THIS is what 7 motorized shades should look like! 😍

One button and this entire enclosed porch transforms. With this much glass, motorization wasn’t just a fun upgrade — it makes these shades SO much easier to use every single day.

But I had to laugh when our client called me after she got home…

“Why do I have SO MANY chargers?!” 🤣

Okay, okay… we may have been a little generous. 😂 We left her FOUR chargers so she’d have plenty of extras if she ever needed them.

The good news? She shouldn’t be hunting for those chargers very often! These rechargeable motors typically only need to be charged once or twice a year, depending on use.

And I showed her one of my FAVORITE little tricks that a lot of people don’t know about. 👇

🔋 Want to know how much battery is left?

Raise the shade all the way up, then press and hold UP. The shade will lower to a position that represents its remaining battery level.

Halfway down = about 50% battery remaining.

No guessing. No wondering if you should charge them. The shade literally shows you. 🙌

It’s the little things like this that I love showing our clients after an installation. Because motorized shades should make your life easier, not more complicated!

👀 SNEAK PEEK!

Ignore the mess… this is what “installation in progress” looked like yesterday. 😂

But LOOK at all that glass! ☀️ This beautiful enclosed porch was definitely ready for some sun control!

We installed 7 motorized light-filtering roller shades — and I got a little creative with the programming to give our client the control she wanted without spending hundreds more to get it. 🙌

I’ll show you the finished result AND all 7 shades in action later tonight! 😍

And yes… watching them all move together is just as satisfying as you think. 😂
