Your HVAC system works hard to keep your family comfortable, but how much do you really know about taking care of it? 🤔

We've rounded up a few common questions homeowners ask us at Conway Air Conditioning! 👇

❄️ 1. How often should I change my air filter?

Most standard filters need to be changed every 1–3 months, but it depends on the filter type, pets, dust, and how often your system runs. When in doubt, check your filter regularly!

🌡️ 2. Why is my AC running but my house isn't getting cool?

A dirty air filter, thermostat settings, blocked vents, or a system issue could be the cause. Check your thermostat and filter first. If your home still isn't cooling properly, it's time to call a professional.

💡 3. How often should I have my HVAC system serviced?

We recommend professional maintenance twice a year for both your heating and cooling equipment. Regular maintenance can help identify potential issues before they become bigger problems.

💰 4. Does turning my thermostat way down cool my house faster?

Nope! Setting your thermostat much lower than your desired temperature won't make your AC cool faster. Set it to your preferred temperature and let your system do its job.

🏠 5. Why are some rooms hotter or colder than others?

Uneven temperatures can be caused by airflow issues, ductwork problems, insulation, sun exposure, or other factors. If one room is consistently uncomfortable, an HVAC professional can help identify the cause.

🔊 6. When should I call an HVAC professional?

If you notice unusual noises, burning smells, water leaking around your equipment, frequent system shutdowns, or a sudden change in performance, don't ignore it. Turn the system off if you notice a burning smell or another potential safety issue, and contact a qualified professional. If you smell gas, leave the area and contact your gas utility or emergency services from a safe location.
