Otterness Painting Co Small family-owned LLC operating in the Twin Cities area since 2020. Extensive experience in interior & exterior painting, power washing, decks and cabinets.

We would love to work with you on your next home project! Jake started work in the painting business in 2007 with a large painting company. He then connected with an established contractor and developed his skills. After graduating from UNW St Paul, MN in 2009 he continued painting on the side with his mentor while also beginning his career working in group homes using his psychology degree. From

2017-2025, he worked at DaVinci Academy charter school in Ham Lake, most recently as Dean of Students. He is a beloved member of the community! While working in education, he decided to launch Otterness Painting Co in 2020 to bring in additional income for his growing family. He gained experience working over breaks and summers. His jobs were exclusively from word of mouth with multiple repeat clients. He then resigned from education at the end of the 2024-2025 school year to pursue his painting business full time. Jake has skills in interior and exterior painting, power washing, decks and cabinets. He generally works directly with families/individuals but is also open to sub contracting for other companies. He does excellent work and would love to work with you for your next project! Jake's wife Rachel works primarily as a Preschool Director in Coon Rapids, MN but also supports the operational aspects of the small family business. We know inviting someone into your home to do contract work is an important decision. Jake is professional, organized and great with kids and families. Our family has always cared deeply about our local community. All three of our daughters graduated from Peace Lutheran Church Preschool in C**n Rapids and it gave us great joy to be able to give back and support their 2026-2027 scholarship fund through a silent auction donation!
