❄️ Winter Weather Advisory – Don’t Let the Freeze Win ❄️
Freezing temperatures are on the forecast, and your home and landscape would prefer not to learn that the hard way. A few quick steps now can prevent costly repairs later.
Before the freeze hits:
💧 Turn off your sprinklers
Any water left in the system can freeze, expand, and crack pipes, valves, or backflow devices. Ice is impressive. It is not gentle.
🌱 Water your plants one last time
Moist soil holds heat longer and helps protect plant roots from freezing air. Think of it as a blanket… for plants.
🚰 Cover outdoor faucets
Use insulated covers or wrapping to help prevent frozen and burst pipes. Bare faucets in winter are just asking for trouble.
🚨 Know where your main water shutoff is
If a pipe bursts, every second counts. Knowing where the shutoff is can save you from an indoor swimming pool you didn’t ask for.
🛠 Locate your sprinkler shut-off valve
Being able to isolate your irrigation system quickly can prevent major damage if something goes wrong.
