Regarding NYS
I would STRONGLY URGE the Majority Leader, Staff and allies to IMMEDIATELY DESIST any and all advocacy for the EXPUNGING of MJ-related arrest/eviction records and instead focus on SEALING with an accompanying statutory ban on bias/discrimination on basis of sealed records.

The rationale is that if reparations for harm caused by WoD/MJ prohibition is ultimately to be via "preference points" towards licensing/permit awards being indexed to lost liberty and associated opportunities as a consequence of MJ-related arrest, incarceration or evictions --thus ensuring Racial Justice yet with the political expedience of AVOIDING both divisive Race Rhetoric AND further Taxpayer Burden-- official documentation of said state-sponsored acts of oppression will be needed by applicants.

Expunging arrest and eviction records would obviously preclude such a conveniently rhetorically-palatable-to-all-sides mechanism.
