Someone else tried to remodel this bathroom and came up a little short of the home owners expectations. They thought they could just put stuff in front of the holes and no one would notice.

We took the vanity back out, removed the wall mirror, put up new sheetrock, redid the lights and moldings, gave it a new paint job and then reinstalled the vanity. The floor will need a retile at some point, but its fine for now and wasn't in the budget at this time.
