Our Landscape Designer found his way into Landscape Architecture in school: I was attending University, my initial focus was to transfer in to the Architecture program, but one day when I went to a counselor’s office, I noticed the Landscape Architecture curriculum and it peaked my interest. I did some research and what I found really appealed to me so right then and there I decided to pursue this career. What I like about this profession is the broad range of possibilities of type of work that includes parks, homes and even freeways. I love the fact that barren areas can be turned into something beautiful and functional. Being part of the process of designing and then seeing it come to life is something great to experience.

Our Project Manager found her inspiration through pattern, texture and color: I’ve always been drawn to pattern, texture, and color, and I pull inspiration from these in both the natural and built environments. From my earliest recollections, my parents encouraged observation and appreciation for the world we live in. My mom taught me to communicate my ideas through sketching- so many times we would be discussing something and would end up with a napkin sketch, and I still rely on this method all the time! My dad had me out in the backyard and camping, learning to delight in life in all its forms, and never be afraid to get my hands dirty. This passion for living and expressing myself accidentally (but very fortunately!) led me to landscape architecture, and its many facets.

Nuvo Parkside Recreation Center will be the heart of this community for in which it will include a pool and spa, yoga lawn, dog park, event lawn area and a tot lot. There will also be spaces for ride sharing and connection opportunities to the Cucamonga Trail and the Ontario Great Park (not an official park name). We carefully cured four plant pallets that will complement the farmhouse style of the architecture which will tie back to the Ontario Ranch Masterplan. Congratulations to our founder and president for his elevation by the American Society of Landscape Architects to the Council of Fellows! Baxter was among 35 honorees recognized at the Investiture Ceremony in Nashville last week. “Election to the ASLA Council of Fellows is among the highest honors the ASLA bestows on members.” Baxter was nominated in the Service category by the Southern California chapter for being “a stalwart supporter of the profession of landscape architecture and his dedicated selfless service to our professional community.” A much deserved honor Baxter!
