Today we worked the Summary Display Project Room, AKA "The Bat Cave!" This is where the magic happened right behind the large display screens in the Apollo Mission Control Room. We installed Eidophor video projectors (non-working) in their original positions that would have displayed real-time images from the moon. All of the modern projectors used for today's visitor experience were serviced by AV Guys who did a great job keeping the show rolling and the screens and mirrors clean. KAPOW!

Tonight's late night report: Consoles and artifacts are clean and accounted for. Everything has a very specific place. Also...quite a bit of dirt for a highly restricted-access display.

Really sad to report some completely avoidable damage to the Apollo Mission Control Room. This is one of the most important historic places in the world. We put humans on another planetary body and brought them home from this room. We as humans only have a handful of truly evolutionary technological events that have changed the face of our planet and this was one of them. We have to do better.

Its been 2 years since the compete restoration and tonight we begin the process of inspecting, cleaning, and maintaining this beautiful historic place. Overall still in really great shape, but already we have some water/humidity impacts to the ceiling, some carpet, wallpaper, and viewing room chairs damage and stains from visitors, quite a bit of degraded foam coming from vents landing on artifacts, and some very shoddy routine maintenance work.
