Spruced up the front door planters and replaced dried out frost bit evergreens with some blue salvia. The ornamental cabbage and red dianthus have lasted through the winter.

The purple passion vine is looking enticing for the Gulf Fritillary butterfly. If you decide to have it in your garden you might want to keep it in a pot. It’s a pretty aggressive grower but beautiful. 🐝

It’s a blanket of Supertunia Bubblegum by Proven Winners today. They are typically an annual but they lasted through the winter for me, so of course I purchased some more to border an entire flower bed. They are so vigorous I plant them up to 24 inches apart and they will quickly close the gap (about 3-4wks).

Ok, I’m back in the saddle after a long hiatus from life changes. Cheers to the first post this year from the garden and to many more. In this photo is a type Penstemon. You may know it as beardtongue. They attract hummingbirds and other pollinators. I think the flowers are lovely!
