Snow melt is when foundation cracks start leaking around here.

As the ground thaws, water builds up along the outside of your foundation and pushes through the weakest point — usually a small vertical crack.

Most people don’t think much of it until they start noticing:

• water along the wall
• damp spots or streaks
• that musty basement smell

I’ve been seeing more of this the past couple days with everything melting.
