As a valued member of the Waukee community, Worth Exteriors has witnessed firsthand the profound impact of severe storms over the past twenty years. Our journey alongside the residents has not only shaped our business but has also deepened our commitment to the community we serve.
One of the defining moments for us was during the severe weather outbreak in May 2008, when thunderstorms unleashed heavy rains and strong winds across central Iowa. The flash flooding that ensued left many streets overwhelmed and homes damaged. In those challenging times, we felt the urgency to step up. Our team worked tirelessly, collaborating with local volunteers to offer support to our neighbors in need.
The tornado outbreak in June 2011 served as a reminder of nature's incredible power. While Waukee was fortunate to avoid direct hits, the tornadoes nearby sparked increased awareness and safety measures throughout the community. This atmosphere of preparedness influenced our own practices, prompting us to strengthen our emergency response protocols to better assist residents during crises.
In July 2014, Waukee faced another trial with a series of severe thunderstorms bringing winds over 70 mph. The aftermath left downed trees and power lines across the area, leading to widespread outages. Our emergency response crews were mobilized immediately, working around the clock to remove debris and restore homes and businesses.
The summer of 2020 brought unprecedented challenges when derecho winds devastated large portions of the land, including Waukee. Many residents were faced with extensive property damage, and we were there to lend our expertise. Our team stepped up to assist in storm cleanup, providing timely roof repairs and restoration services. The strength and unity of our community shone brightly during this time, and we were proud to play a role in helping Waukee recover.
