And now for another installment of "A Note From The AV Nerd Wife": I never knew I needed… good speakers in the bathroom.
I love music! No, really… I LOVE music! There is rarely a song on the radio (aka Spotify, Pandora, etc) that I don’t sing along with. Music gives me energy and fills my cup on a daily basis, and my husband really extended this by being the first person to introduce me to value of a good quality sound system. At our apartment, Rusty slowly but surely began switching out all mediocre speakers for higher quality ones, which was great, especially in our living room. But the day he came in and said he was going to install a speaker in the bathroom, I was honestly a little confused. He is a perfectionist and is unapologetically particular about doing things the right way (one of the things I love about him more each day), so I knew this speaker venture was much more than a single bluetooth speaker we were going to set out on a counter. Of course, he found the best omni-directional speaker with built in sub and proceeded to cut a hole in our bathroom ceiling so it would be clean and hidden. Did I mention this was an apartment and I had never added more than a nail hole in wall before…
Ok, sorry, back to the real story… Rusty started using this beautifully mounted speaker while he was getting ready in the morning - listening to Sirius or music, which led me to start listening to music while I was getting ready. Can I just tell you, I am not a morning person, but somehow, if you give me a little music in the morning, I can get a lot more done! I fell in love with it! When we moved into the house, this was another one of the priority jobs for Rusty as he outfitted our house in perfect AV Nerd style. The speakers in the master bathroom had to be just perfect - great quality, full sound, etc., and boy, did they deliver! Our bathroom speakers are now a regular part of waking up in the morning, going to bed in the evening, and relaxing in a bath while listening to good music or even staying caught up with the movie we had been watching earlier (I’ll have to add another part of this later - I never knew I needed an audio matrix). This sounds like a basic thing, which may be true, but this is another piece of A/V wisdom that my AV Nerd has passed on that I’m not sure I could live without! So here’s to wishing you peace, love and good music… in the bathroom!
