If you have a portable generator I would strongly consider putting the generator to use for you by getting a whole house generator inlet. This is a VERY cost effective way to keep power on in your home during an outage.

We are entering the cold season and expecting cold weather and possible outages like a couple of years ago. I want to remind you that problems occur regardless of the weather.

DFW scanner posted that there is a power substation in N FW/Roanoke that is on fire. The Fort Worth FD won’t put it out because it’s an electrical substation.

Don’t fall under the false sense of security that you are on the hospital grid, because hospitals have generators for a reason. Natural and intentional disasters happen.
