After our ceremony at Callanish, we had our reception at and spent our wedding night in the Callanish Suite at Lews Castle in Stornoway.

We are so grateful to the castle staff for giving us free roam of the castle and the grounds for our modest Wednesday wedding.

We had our reception in their medieval dining hall; Welcomed with peat-smoked whiskey and a short-sword to cut our cake.

The castle staff were our superstars and we cannot thank them enough for all they did for us.

It was the best day of my life.

Thanks everyone who has supported us along the way!

We can now settle down at home and financially recover from this like normal people do, I guess!

It's set in stone!

On the 27th of May 2026

C**t Wesley Dunbar and I got married at the Callanish Stones on the Isle of Lewis in Scotland with our mothers and son by our sides.

The weather was so rare and beautiful on the isle that locals observing were alerting to call the press, even!

We were so fortunate to have mother nature on our side for that one and I feel so divinely blessed by that!

Our biggest thanks goes out to our officiant Kay Falconer, who delivered a lovely traditional celtic ceremony, which included the ancient oathing stone ritual we chose for our vows.

Our talented and intuitive photographer, Maureen Du Preez who understood our deep connection to nature and captured every moment of our magical day with peace & love.

To the businesses in Stornoway such as Bespoke Blooms for designing the floral bouquets, Hebridean Bakehouse for the most delightful wedding CARROT CAKE EVER, to Sammy's Salon for pinning-up this CARROT TOP!

And, as well as to Lena at The Bridal Shop in Iowa City; For surprisingly finding my dream white wedding gown with the corseted bodice and bohemian & eye-lash lace!

It was the absolute wedding of my dreams that I didn't even know I had; all come true by my deeply devoted husband.

This, I will never forget.

I love you endlessly...

In hindsight I should have booked a night here on the Isle of Lewis! The beach access was divine!

Also, I am now highly attracted to the smell of burning peat...

Which I recently discovered that the whiskey we had at our wedding reception (THE VERY NEXT DAY) was peat smoked; and the only whiskey distilled on Isle of Lewis!

Another side-quest to an iron-age stronghold on the Isle of Lewis.

Although clearly in ruins, what remains is in remarkable condition for how ancient it is.

I was fascinated by construction of the stone slab staircase and the itty-bitty doors.

Our first look at the Callanish Stones to make preparations for our wedding ceremony the following day.

It took, 2 years, 2 prominent deaths in our families, 2 government shutdowns, 2 wars! A medical AND legal crisis PLUS, SO MUCH MORE BU****IT for us to finally make it to this point!

It took the effort of so many people to make it happen too and I couldn't be any more grateful to the people that were with me the entire way.

Our main source of support being our mothers!

Literally the only people on earth with a love so pure that could possibly deal with the level of stress it took for us to plan a wedding on a Scottish Isle!

But, I clearly couldn't be married anywhere other than at 'Ye Heathen Temple' of course!

All that time and stress just for our wedding day to seemingly be gone in a flash!

It was the most BEAUTIFUL day of my life though...

I can't wait to share the pictures!
