Happy we were able to fix this mess.
Swipe for After➡️before, a little backwards but I don’t want that old tiled drain stinking up our feed 😂

Really wish the niche wasn’t prefabbed so it laid out full tiles, but it’ll do

Swipe to see before and after!
According to our clients this tile floor was original to the home, built in the 1970's. A pretty substantial crack (about 1/2" wide) had formed over the years starting from the back slider, all the way to the other end of the room. They had a company come in and reinforce the cracked slab with metal and a filler. Luckily they had some extra tiles left over that they hung on to for decades in the garage.
Unfortunately, there wasn't enough tiles to completely replace the tiles that were removed by the company that fixed the crack. However, there was a few tiles that weren't completely broken. We scraped and ground the old mortar off the back of the tiles (a few tiles had chips unfortunately) and were able to set them in a place where a large rug goes that would cover it. It wasn't a perfect fix, but it exceeded our client's expectations. Moral of the story, always save extra tile and put them in a place where they won't have to be moved ever again.
