The best part of the job has always been the little helper who thinks they're driving.

To every dad who shares the yard, the work, and the wheelbarrow rides, today is yours.

Thank you for the lessons that stick and the memories that get made out in the grass.

Happy Father's Day from all of us at Champion. β™₯οΈπŸ–€

We've been talking sand this week, so this one felt worth sharing.

Stephanie left us this review recently, and it landed on the part we care about most.

She's been in for sand and pebbles more than once, and what stuck with her was the people. Courteous, professional, and good for a few laughs while you load up.

That means a lot to the crew, because that's the standard we're holding ourselves to every time someone pulls in.

She also noticed the thing a lot of folks figure out once they stop buying by the bag.

Material by the yard goes a lot further than hauling sacks home from the big box store.

Thank you for the kind words, Stephanie, and for making us your supply stop.

Got a project that needs sand, soil, mulch, or stone? Order online or give us a call at 937-228-2730. We'll get you loaded up.

Sand is sand, right? Ask anybody who's set pavers on the wrong kind.

Two of the most common loads we move are Basic/Fill Sand and Mason/Brick Sand.

They look similar in the pile. They are not built for the same job, and grabbing the wrong one tends to show up later.

Basic/Fill Sand is the coarse, screened workhorse. It packs down tight and lets water drain through, which is exactly what you want under the things that have to stay put.
πŸ‘‰ Base prep under patios, walkways, and slabs
πŸ‘‰ Backfill around foundations, pipes, and utilities
πŸ‘‰ Leveling low spots and holding back erosion

Mason/Brick Sand is the fine, washed one. Smooth, uniform, clean enough to walk through barefoot. When the finish matters, mason sand is the one.
πŸ‘‰ Mortar mixes for brick, block, and stone
πŸ‘‰ Paver bases and joint fill
πŸ‘‰ Playgrounds, sandboxes, and lawn topdressing

Rule of thumb. If it's holding weight or moving water, reach for fill sand. If it's getting seen or getting touched, reach for mason sand.

Not sure which one your project calls for? Order online or give us a call at 937-228-2730 and we'll point you to the right pile.

Some yards you drive past. This one we know by heart.

This Champion yard sign is standing in front of a project that hits close to home. It belongs to family of one of our own, and the yard behind it speaks for itself.

Putting a sign in the yard is a small thing but here is what it sets in motion:
πŸ‘‰ One entry into our July 4 Giveaway for a $300 Champion Gift Card
πŸ‘‰ A $1 donation to RMHC Dayton from this month's sponsor, Chad and Amanda Miller of Millco Lawn Services
πŸ‘‰ $3 off every cubic yard of mulch, just for having the sign in the yard
πŸ‘‰ Support for families at the house on Valley Street, since a portion from every retail yard of mulch we sell already goes to RMHC Dayton

That is the house that gives families a free place to stay while their kids are treated nearby.

Want in? Snap a photo of your Champion yard sign, post it, and tag us.

Not a poster? Email it to [email protected] and we'll post it for you.

Same entry, same donation, same difference made.

A photo landed in our messages, and it did a lot more than say hello.

A customer sent us a picture of their Champion yard sign standing tall in the front yard.

Simple gesture. Took maybe ten seconds.

Here is everything those ten seconds set in motion:
πŸ‘‰ One entry into our July 4 Giveaway for a $300 Champion Gift Card
πŸ‘‰ A $1 donation to RMHC Dayton from this month's sponsor, Chad Miller and Amanda Miller of Millco Lawn Services
πŸ‘‰ $3 off every cubic yard of mulch, just for having the sign in the yard
πŸ‘‰ Support for the house on Valley Street, since a portion from every retail yard of mulch we sell already goes straight to RMHC Dayton.

That is the house that gives families a free place to stay while their kids are treated nearby.

So no. It was never just a photo.

So, Theresa M, thank you for sending it in.

"That mulch is wonderful... I really appreciate your service. It is such a worthy cause." πŸ“’

Marsha ordered some mulch, set a Champion yard sign in her front lawn, and then sent us a photo of it along with a note.

It's such a simple gesture that means the world to us.β™₯️

What Marsha is talking about is our yard sign program. When you put a Champion sign in your yard, you are helping us support Ronald McDonald House Charities Dayton and the families who lean on it while a child is in treatment.

This month, Chad Miller and the crew at Millco Lawn Services are pitching in. For every photo of a Champion sign that gets posted and tagged, Millco donates $1 to RMHC Dayton.

Tag us in your photo, or email it to [email protected], and we will post it for you. Your entry and the donation still count.

Thank you, Marsha. A little mulch, a sign in the grass, and a few kind words.

That is a pretty good day around here.😎
