Forgive the terrible focus from bad lighting but, look at these beautiful African Violet blooms. It's been dreary and cold yet, my room is still covered in blooms!

The #1 question I get from terrarium newbies is where I find my glass. The answer is everywhere. It's all reclaimed and repurposed from one thrift store or another. Go through the racks, try different lids, look for glazes or paint that can potentially come off. I found these beauties at Goodwill for $18 but, they 50% off so, I got them both for $9. Removing the painted glaze was intense and took a solid 3-4 hours for both but they are going to make great terrariums! Video of the process is coming soon!

I've pictured this terrarium in my head since I first saw a ming aralia in a terrarium. It's commonly used as a bonsai. It looks like a perfect little tree when finessed a little. Of course, we just got that tray of mood moss and I wanted grass under my tree so, that part was easy. The third part, not so much. I used a trailing little pilea that isn't sitting right in my mind. After festering over it a bit, I'm going to remove it, cut off three clusters and replant them. This one will take a few months to fully take shape and it will need a little tweaking along the way but, I have high hopes.

This was a fun terrarium build. I found this green glazed glass at a local thrift shop, stripped it and planted it out. I love big pouffy mood moss paired with a jewel orchid. 🪴❤️😉

Planted the new African violets today. You see that tall one in the middle? What I thought would be a cake walk was far from it. Loving the violet, loving that glass but, the clean up will have to wait for tomorrow. I am so excited to see it finished.
