🦋 Ready to Bring Butterflies to Your Yard? Here’s When to Start! 🌿

If you’re in Houston and dreaming of a butterfly-filled garden, timing is everything! Luckily, we have TWO prime planting seasons:

🌸 Spring (Feb–April):
Kick things off early so plants can establish before summer’s heatwave. More blooms = more butterflies!

🍂 Fall (Sept–Nov):
Cooler temps help plants root deeply before spring, meaning less watering and stronger growth when butterflies return.

🦋 Must-Have Butterfly Attractors:
✅ Milkweed – Monarchs can’t survive without it!
✅ Mistflower – A butterfly party starter
✅ Passion Vine – Gulf Fritillary caterpillars LOVE it
✅ Lantana & Pentas – Easy, colorful, and nectar-packed

🌞 Pro Tip: Pick a sunny spot (6+ hours daily) and add a shallow water dish. Your winged visitors will thank you!

Hey Everyone! If you are in the Houston area, be on the lookout for lawn diseases in your grass over the next week or so. With all the rain last week and now our temperatures and rising humidity, we are entering the perfect storm for lawn disease to pop up. Wouldn't hurt to pause your lawn sprinklers. Also, if you are about to thrown down some fertilizer, check for any yellowing in your lawn first. The nitrogen in the fertilizer will cause any lawn disease to just go absolutely crazy.

Getting into the pH of your soil isn't considered the most fun thing to do in your lawn, but it is one of the most important and often overlooked steps in lawn care.

Getting into the Fall/Winter Months, lime is a great addition to a lawn care program if you need to raise your pH for next Spring. Most of our soils in SE Houston area heavy clay soils that have a lower pH which can lead to micro-deficiency more quickly than a balanced soil pH. The attached article is a good read about adjusting your pH.

If you would like a soil test, we do provide them or we can point you in the right direction to perform your own soil analysis.

God Bless
