Today I looked at a fountain complaint in which polyamide epoxy was misapplied. The contractor didn't mix the B-side catalyst component with the A-side paint component. Therefore the fountain stayed and still remains tacky until this day.
The remedy for this is to get a putty knife and a cardboard box, and simply scrape the tacky epoxy off into the box for disposal and wash the remainder off with xylene.
After this has been done, simply apply 2 coats of properly mixed epoxy to the clean substrate. After 2 coats have been applied, allow 7 days for curing before filling with water.
