"God’s Winter Palace" Oils on Wood 1976
12x24,
Original with Frame $350
Original without Frame $300

A hush hangs over this snow-soaked valley, as if the earth itself is holding its breath. The old Orthodox church rests in the distance, tucked into the frost like a secret the land refuses to lose. Light slips across the hills in pale gold, turning every drift into a quiet hymn.

Here, in this hidden corner of winter, warmth isn’t loud, it waits patiently in the stillness. Love shows up in small, stubborn ways: a steeple rising from the cold, a river refusing to freeze, the soft reassurance that goodness survives even the hardest seasons. This painting feels like a prayer someone whispered into the snow, hoping it would be heard.

"Winter aspens" 1976
oils on wood
9x12 $350 with Frame, $300 without frame

Painted from memory of a quiet Alaskan valley, where the cold holds everything in a soft hush. The aspens stood pale and shimmering, their branches like delicate bones against the pale sky. Frosted hills rolled out into the distance, fading into a blue that felt endless. The river kept moving, even in deep winter, whispering that life continues beneath the silence. This piece holds that stillness. That breath before thought. That sacred pause where the earth rests, quiet and shining under its blanket of ice and morning light.

"Prairie of Lost Dreams" 1976 oils on wood 19x7
$250 with frame, $200 without.
A lone house slumps into the tall grass, its roof sagging like a tired breath. The windmill beside it has given up its purpose, bones leaning toward the earth. The prairie rolls on and on, golden and muted, as though the sun itself has gone quiet.

This was painted in Alaska, in a season when my spirit felt hollow. It speaks of dreams once tended, then left behind. The kind of dreams that once fluttered warm in the chest and now lie still among the weeds. There’s a hush in the scene, a wide echo of absence. A place where the heart remembers what it hoped for, and mourns what never came to be.

“Autumn Creek” (1976, Oil on wood panel, 12x24, $350 with frame, $300 without.)
A quiet hymn to Alaska’s fleeting autumn, Autumn Creek captures the golden hush before the long northern sleep. Aspens blaze like lanterns along the water’s edge, their reflection trembling in the cool current. The air carries both warmth and farewell. A meditation on change, and the grace in letting go. In this painted silence, nature is both artist and muse, reminding us that every ending carries its own kind of light.
Photographed by Jeff Olson and Corin Nguyen- which was a wonderful experience! They came to the home studio which was amazing to see how a mobile Photographer sets up!
