After getting married in January of 2020 I moved down here to Dover from Cleveland. In April of 2020, I lost my job of 7 years due to COVID. That is when I became determined to shift my focus to something completely different - something refreshing. I have always had an interest in plants but I became absolutely fascinated with gardening and homesteading during the COVID lockdown. I spent the rest
of 2020 managing two small 4x12 garden beds, visiting local produce auctions and farmers markets, creating and preserving my garden harvests, and tending to our flock of chickens. I have since started a full-time job, added more chickens, and added honey bees - but I wonโt let all of that slow down our garden dreams. I am a Graphic Designer by trade but my spare time is spent in the garden. About Our Garden:
Everything in our garden is naturally grown on our property - from starting seeds in my tiny indoor greenhouse to bringing them out into our raised beds. We do not use synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, or herbicides. The majority of our seeds are heirloom varieties โ focusing on many unique kinds of tomatoes. Spring Plant Sale:
Every year around Motherโs Day my goal is to have plenty of fun heirloom tomato plants and everyone's favorite pepper plants to sell out by the road. Look for posts around springtime for varieties and specific dates. Little Seed Library: There is a little box out by the road that is a seed library in the springtime and a pick-your-own flower hub through the summer. I try my best to gather seeds to have available for each growing season. Pick-Your-Own-Flowers: Summer through fall you can find vases, water, and trimmers in the box out by the road so you can take home anything you might like from the flower patch. Dahlias, Zinnias, and Sunflowers are planned every year with Eucalyptus for filler. If it makes you smile, please take it home with you. :)
