It’s almost 1 in the morning, so I’m not sure if many people will even see this, but I feel like this will reach someone who needs to hear it, so.. here it is.
If one day you was walking down a trail, somewhere deep in the woods, and you came across a little child who’s lost his/her way home, would you say to that child “Turn around, and go back home!!”? Or would you take the child’s hands, and walk along side him/her out of the woods, and take the child to someone, like a police officer, who could help him/her find their way home? I’m sure most would say the second, of course! And if you agree, then this shouldn’t be hard to understand.
As someone who was that lost child, I always heard “Repent from your sins, and accept Jesus Christ into your heart!” And this always scared me. I wanted to get away from the person telling me this ASAP. I would agree with them, and nod my head until I found the opportunity to flee, because once I was told to turn away from my sins and accept Jesus into my heart, the rest of what they had to say about Jesus wasn’t registering to me. All I could think about is the sins that this person was telling me to turn away from, and how much I enjoyed that particular sin or sins.. how I would have to become this perfect Christian who walked the straight and narrow or I would go to hell for a eternity. But I realize now, the message was completely backwards.. You don’t have to come to Jesus as a prepared-to-be Christian. Jesus said “One sheep is lost. The man leaves the 99 and seeks the lost sheep until he finds it. The man brings back the lost sheep on his shoulders, calls friends and neighbors together to rejoice.” Luke 15:4-7. Jesus is the good shepherd, who puts the lost on his shoulders, and carry’s them home, all the way rejoicing because HE FOUND YOU! He will seek you until he finds you. I didn’t realize this for so long, and for that reason, I kept running from the one who was looking for me. And the more I ran away from him, the more lost I became.. I am so glad I decided to not run away from the lord, because once I truly accepted him (not out of being pressured, but truly accepting him because I was so lost nothing made sense anymore) he threw me, a lost sinner, over his shoulders, and he carried me, and he still is carrying me, until he gets me home.. I feel like every step that he’s taking with me, is another sin that I let go of because I didn’t repent and then accept Jesus, I accepted Jesus and he’s with me, helping to change my heart because if you let him in, he’s gonna help you home. I promise you, when nothing in this world makes sense, he does. He is the way home. And he helps guide you on that straight and narrow because he knows the way back home. He knows that’s you’re gonna fall short, and that you will sin, because none of us are perfect, but he still carry’s you on his shoulders because he loves you. He loves you more than your mom or dad, the person you are closest to, your spouse.. he loves you more than you love your children. (Don’t get mad about that last one, I only mean well) his love is unconditional, and he won’t ever forsake you or abandon you in your weaknesses, because when he finds you, he’s taking you home. You might get saved, and go right back to that same sin, but if you truly accept him, and you have faith in him, he won’t fail you! I sin everyday, I am by no means a perfect Christian, all I know for sure though is that he has changed me, and he continues to do just that. I’m no longer lost, I’m being taken home by my lord Jesus Christ y’all!! There is no sweeter peace than knowing this.. I cannot describe the change that he has made in me, it is something you have to feel for yourself.
Anyways, I just feel like God wanted me to share this with someone. If the thought of giving yourself up to the lord makes you nervous because you have a hard addiction to drugs, alcohol, s*x, food, ci******es (my current battle, but I know the lord will help me like he has with so many) or whatever it may be, you don’t have to battle these things by yourself before you turn to Christ. Don’t worry about the so-called Christian that calls us sinners hypocrites, because He wants the sinner that you are, and he wants to carry you home… this is why he did what he did on the cross.. for the sinners that fall short everyday, because HE LOVES THAT SINNER! ❤️
And if you want to talk to someone about Jesus, please, please, 🙏 let them know that he will take them as they are. They are that lost child in the woods, and you can lead them to the only one who can save them.. and when they accept him to come into their heart, just watch the changes he will do!
