Our floor systems are engineered to twice the code minimum deflection rating, not the bare minimum, twice it. That means less bounce, less flex, and a floor that stays solid for decades, not just at final inspection. We also nail, screw, and glue our subfloor down, then glue and nail the hardwood on top. Every layer is locked in, not just fastened.

In our healthy homes, we use the Insight line by Quaker through Window and Door Concepts. These are fully thermally broken aluminum windows, no wood, no vinyl, no off gassing.

Why aluminum? It gives you durability and weather resistance where it matters most, without introducing materials that can break down or off gas over time. We built a house that basically regulates its own humidity, and wool is a HUGE reason for that. The same reason wool keeps your body temperature just right is the same reason it works so well as insulation. It naturally keeps indoor humidity sitting right around 40 to 50%
