I studied Intaglio printmaking at Methodist University in Fayetteville, NC then Lithography and Sculpture at Appalachian State University in Boone, NC. I am fortunate that I excelled in all forms of art media and feel there isn't anything I cannot do. Currently, I reside in East Setauket, NY on the North Shore close to Setauket Harbor on Long Island. It is here that I rediscovered my love and pass
ion for art after years of tamping down the urge to create. Juried competitions turn me on so, I enter as many as I can depending on the genre or theme of the show. Now, I am pursuing painting with mixed media on canvas including experimental printmaking and glazing techniques I have developed. In the not so recent past, I was timid with the use of color and worked primarily in black and white or sepia. Everything changed when I took a colored pencil course a few years ago to help me overcome my fears of dabbling in color. It is here that I learned and conquered layering and color application and was able to apply what I learned via painting. Now I am using bold, exciting colors and no longer fear it. This year I plan on incorporating what I have learned about color and layering over the last few years and intend to reenter the printmaking world. I am excited about my ideas already. I am an Artist period...no looking back for me.
'I have a promiscuous Muse. My Muse wants to own every color,
work in many media, and in numerous genre. I just let my Muse take me where she lives.'
