šŸ’§ Low water pressure?
If your shower barely rinses or your sink takes forever to fill… something’s not right.

A lot of homeowners assume it’s ā€œjust how it isā€ — but low pressure is usually a sign of an underlying issue.

Common causes include:

* Buildup in pipes or fixtures
* Failing pressure reducing valves (PRVs)
* Hidden leaks
* Old or restricted piping

The good news? Most of these can be fixed — and often without major work.

At E. Voges Plumbing & Heating, we diagnose pressure issues properly and fix them the right way so you actually notice the difference.

We’re a small, family-owned local business, and we take pride in clean, reliable work you can trust.

If your water pressure isn’t what it should be, it’s worth getting it checked out.

🚨 This is every homeowner's nightmare.
This customer called us after sewage began backing up into their basement.

The cause?
Tree roots had worked their way into the sewer line and continued growing until they created a major blockage.

The result was exactly what no homeowner wants to deal with: raw sewage backing up into the home.

The large mass of roots shown in these photos was removed from the sewer line so the system could begin flowing properly again.

If you've noticed:
āœ” Slow drains throughout the house
āœ” Frequent drain backups
āœ” Gurgling toilets
āœ” Sewage odors
āœ” Water backing up at floor drains..don't ignore the warning signs.

A sewer problem caught early is usually much easier (and less expensive) to address than a full sewage backup.

šŸ™šŸš½ Weird Plumbing Fact:

Octopuses can squeeze through openings as small as a quarter — and there have been real cases of them escaping through plumbing systems in aquariums.

Yep… they’re basically escape artists.

While you’re (thankfully) not going to find an octopus coming up through your toilet at home, it’s a wild reminder of just how connected and complex piping systems can be.
It also shows how small openings, gaps, or plumbing issues can lead to unexpected problems — just usually not this unexpected.

šŸ’§ Your sump pump is your basement’s first line of defense.

And most people don’t think about it… until it fails.

When a sump pump stops working, it’s not just a small issue — it can lead to:

A quick check now can save you a major headache later.

At E. Voges Plumbing & Heating, we can make sure your sump pump is working properly and ready when you need it most.

We’re a small, family-owned local business, and we take pride in clean, reliable work you can trust.

🚨 ā€œShould we flush our water heater?ā€

That was the question this homeowner called us with after noticing their hot water looked dirty and discolored.

After inspecting the system, we found a 13-year-old Bradford White water heater that had never been flushed. The tank was showing signs of age, corrosion, and was beginning to leak from underneath.

At that point, attempting a routine flush would have been a high-risk gamble.

As water heaters age, sediment can build up inside the tank for years. In some cases, that buildup can actually be helping seal weakened areas of the tank. Disturbing it can sometimes turn a small problem into a major leak.

When this tank was drained, the water ran brown.

After bringing the old heater back and beginning to tear it down, even more dark brown water and debris came out. The temperature and pressure relief valve was also severely obstructed by corrosion and buildup.

Why is that important?

The temperature and pressure relief valve is a critical safety device designed to release excess pressure and temperature from the water heater. If that valve becomes obstructed and cannot operate properly, dangerous pressure can build inside the tank.

The brown water, corrosion, and sediment shown in these photos are what had been circulating through this home’s hot water system for bathing, washing dishes, laundry, and other everyday uses.

Water heaters don’t last forever, and waiting too long can sometimes turn a simple replacement into a much bigger problem.

🚿 Sewer smells in your home?
That’s not something to ignore.

If you’re noticing a foul odor coming from a drain, basement, or bathroom, it’s usually a sign that something isn’t working the way it should.

Common causes include:

* Dry or failing drain traps
* Sewer gas escaping from a bad seal
* Partial blockages in the line
* Venting issues

Sometimes it’s a simple fix… other times it’s an early warning sign of a bigger problem.

At E. Voges Plumbing & Heating, we take the time to properly diagnose the issue and fix it the right way — not just mask the smell.

We’re a small, family-owned local business, and we take pride in clean, reliable work you can trust.

If something smells off, it’s worth getting it checked out.

šŸ€šŸš½ Weird Plumbing Fact:

In some cities around the world, rats have been known to swim through sewer pipes… and come up through toilets.

Yeah — seriously.

Rats are strong swimmers, can tread water for days, and can squeeze through surprisingly small openings. If conditions are right, they can travel through the sewer system and end up inside a home.

It’s rare — but it does happen.

One of the things that helps prevent this?
A properly functioning toilet and plumbing system with no damage or defects.

Just another reason why keeping your plumbing in good shape matters more than most people think.

🚽 Toilet constantly running?
It might not seem like a big deal… but it can waste hundreds of gallons of water a day.

That’s money literally going down the drain šŸ’ø

Most of the time, it’s something simple — like a worn flapper, fill valve issue, or internal component failure — but if ignored, it can lead to higher water bills and bigger problems.

At E. Voges Plumbing & Heating, we handle toilet repairs and replacements the right way — no guesswork, no shortcuts.

āœ” Running toilets
āœ” Weak or incomplete flushes
āœ” Leaks at the base
āœ” Full toilet replacements

We’re a small, family-owned local business, and we take pride in clean, reliable work you can trust.

If your toilet isn’t working the way it should, it’s worth getting it fixed sooner rather than later.

šŸ’§ Dripping faucet? It’s costing you more than you think.

That steady drip might not seem like a big deal… but it adds up over time.

A leaking faucet can:
• Waste gallons of water
• Increase your water bill
• Get worse as parts continue to wear out

Most of the time, it’s a worn cartridge or internal component—and a relatively simple fix when caught early.

If you’ve got a faucet that won’t stop dripping, it’s worth getting it taken care of before it gets worse.
