The Taj Ma Cluck got a little flower bed makeover today 🌸🐓

Right now it may not look like much, but give it a month or so and it’s going to fill in beautifully. Sometimes the best projects start out looking a little messy before everything blooms together.

I can already picture all the flowers growing in and adding so much color around the coop. Of course the girls had to supervise every step of the process and inspect all the fresh dirt. 😂💚

We are always looking for ways to improve things over here at the Taj Ma Cluck, so of course the tractor got put to work...

We are always looking for ways to improve things over here at the Taj Ma Cluck, so of course the tractor got put to work within the first hour of being home 😂

We dug out a new flower bed for the girls and used all that top soil to build up inside the run where the chickens have been busy digging craters with all their dirt and sand baths. Safe to say the girls are spoiled around here 🐓🌸

So… it might be time to admit I have a slight problem 😅

On Sunday I brought home 4 more peepers, which brings my current chick lineup to:
• 4 Olive Eggers
• 2 Diamond Duchess
• 4 Diamond Daisy
• 4 Lavender Orpingtons
• 4 Buff Orpingtons
• 2 Chocolate Orpingtons
• 2 Buff Cochins

If my math is mathing… that’s 22 chicks 🐥

Add in the original 17 hens at the Taj Ma Cluck and we’re sitting at a casual 39 chickens total 🫣

Let’s just say… chicken math is very real over here.

My excuse? 14 of the babies are for my mom… and I’m sticking to that story 😉

Spring has officially arrived at the Taj Ma Cluck and we are SO ready for it! 🌷🐓

The winter protection is coming down, fresh air is flowing through the coop again, and the girls are loving every second of it. Longer days mean more sunshine… and you know what that means—more eggs! 🥚🙌 The nesting boxes are staying busy and we are here for it.

And the best part?! Baby chicks have entered the chat 😍🐥 Nothing says spring like tiny peeps and fluffy little faces running around.

Goodbye snow, hello mud, sunshine, and a whole lot of fresh eggs. The Taj Ma Cluck is in full spring mode! 💛

Apparently I run a communal living experiment and no one told me.

I have 12 nesting boxes. TWELVE.
Yet every single hen is like, “Nope. We’re all using this one.”

There’s a whole row of empty, perfectly good boxes… but why spread out when you can wait in line, yell at each other, and lay eggs on top of your friends? 🤦🏼‍♀️🐔

Chicken logic will forever humble me. 🥚😂
