Before & after of a severely clogged super gutter from today’s job! 🌧️🍂

If rainwater is pouring over the edge of your gutters and dumping onto your lanai, sidewalks, or landscaping… there’s a good chance you’ve got a blockage up there.

One of the biggest misconceptions is that gutters have to LOOK full to have a problem. Most of the time, debris builds up at the downspout and acts like a giant sponge. Only so much water can drain before it starts backing up and overflowing from the top.

When that happens, the water usually goes one of two places:
➡️ Back toward your roof, where it can find openings and cause water damage
➡️ Over the sides, where it can wash out landscaping and create erosion around your home

Don’t wait until you notice damage already happening.

I recommend bi-annual gutter cleanings — typically once in the spring and once in the fall — to keep everything flowing properly year-round.

Now is a good time to go check those gutters! If you notice water running over the top of them, especially around where the downspout is, you probably have a clog! Other telltale signs are ground erosion directly under your roof, water coming out of seams in the downspout, or my personal favorite, trees growing in the gutter 😃.
