Big opportunities are coming for El Paso businesses! 📢
At the recent EPISD Local Talent Expo, Chief Financial Officer David Base (who stepped into the role in February), along with Procurement Director Katy Pena and Bond Chair Gina Williams, made one thing incredibly clear: EPISD is fully committed to hiring local talent for our upcoming design and construction projects.
Whether it is addressing deferred maintenance or moving forward with future bond work, the goal is to keep El Paso dollars right here at home supporting local families and businesses. As David emphasized, this administration is built on accountability and no broken promises.
MNK Architects was proud to have a booth at the expo, connecting directly with district leadership and fellow local professionals who are ready to build the future of our schools alongside the people who know this community best.
Here is what local contractors, architects, and vendors need to know to get ready for what's next:
💼 The Procurement Pipeline ($2 Million Annually)
June through August: EPISD will be releasing open-ended RFPs (Requests for Proposals) for ongoing district needs.
August: The Board will review and approve these annual procurement items.
🏫 The Potential Bond & Next Steps
The Bond Accountability Committee—including leaders like Israel Irrobali (Executive Director for EPAC)—is working hard to determine exactly which critical projects, such as major HVAC improvements, will move forward.
June 16th @ 8:00 AM: After intense collaboration, the bond committee will present the final built bond package to the Board.
August 11th: The Board will officially vote on the bond package.
Looking Ahead: If approved, a potential bond election could happen as early as this November or May.

MNK Architects Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Manager to join our team. We are looking for a professional who combines deep technical expertise with the refined communication skills necessary to lead large-scale projects and maintain our reputation for excellence in the architectural industry.

Key Responsibilities
Comprehensive Management: Lead all project phases from initial programming and schematic design through construction administration.

Stakeholder Liaison: Act as the primary bridge between the firm, the client, and various sub-consultants to ensure seamless project delivery.

Budget & Quality Control: Maintain strict oversight of project financials and timelines, ensuring every deliverable meets MNK’s high standards.

Team Leadership: Coordinate internal design teams and mentor junior staff to foster professional growth.

Required Qualifications
Industry Experience: 10+ years of professional experience in an architectural firm.

Proven Portfolio: Demonstrated experience managing at least 5 projects with a construction value of $7 million or more.

Licensure: Must be a Licensed Architect or currently and actively pursuing professional licensure.

Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. You must be comfortable leading meetings with clients, boards, and city officials.

Collaboration: Extensive experience managing and communicating directly with sub-consultants and multi-disciplinary teams.

Preferred Skills
Experience with various delivery methods, including Design-Build and CSP.

A background or interest in marketing and business development is desirable to assist with firm growth and proposal efforts.

Project Budgeting: Project budgeting experience is desirable.

Software Skills

• AutoCAD
• Revit (Optional)
• Microsoft Office
